NO TIME TO COOK

“I have no time to cook”

How many times do I hear this in a week ?

Many many times. But I just won’t accept that excuse. I have held many short cookery demonstrations at home to show my clients how quick and easy it is to have a healthy, tasty meal on the table within 30 minutes of getting home. The same time it takes to order and receive a take away.

Much cheaper and more nutritious.

The key to success when wanting to eat healthily is in the planning…

Plan to get the shopping, plan to prepare and cook the meals and plan time to eat without rushing….

This doesn’t always work and I know different people have different time constraints .
So here are a few ideas in case this happens to you….
Do not buy a ready prepared meal, no matter how tired or rushed you are. Buy a bag of ready prepared vegetables or salad and some protein. …

Choose prawns, salmon, a chicken breast, a tin of tuna. You get the idea. I picked up a small ready prepared prawn salad in M&S and I was shocked at the 12% salt and the amount of sugar in it….
It was a salad. Labels can be deceiving so stick to real food.
Always have a cooked chicken in your fridge.

That way you will always have a snack if needed and you can make a quick meal by adding  stir fry vegetables or beans or lentils. Sweet potato oven chips or wholegrain rice or pasta make a great meal. I cook an extra chicken on a Sunday and I make a stock for my soup lunches during the week.
Soups can be made quickly. I like to roast a tray of peppers and tomatoes with garlic until soft ( about 20-30 mins) then blitz them in my blender with water and herbs. I make a big batch and freeze portions in soup bags.…

Keep your cupboard stocked up with tins of different beans, lentils and tomatoes . You can make a meal up in just 15 minutes with these. I use Pinterest for lots of different recipe inspirations.
“Involve the family to help and try different recipes. Just stick to our principles of
Real Food, No sugar and lots of vegetables.

I love this expression I saw some time ago, and it has always stuck with me.

the problem is, I have time but not the inclination. I cook batches and freeze them so I dont have to cook every night. These dishes are simple and easy to put together and taste delicious! Thank you
